As usual in India, this concentrates on a detail rather than the substance. Before UV can be effective you have to go through all of the conventional processes such as activated sludge to get an effluent that is treatable. It would be better vfm to get all of the other plants up to an acceptable standard rather than polishing the effluent at this plant. In the UK we don't chlorinate or use UV on final effluent - we just treat it to the required standard using conventional means.
