First ,Test as per IS 10500 to verify drinking water quality may not so costly, charges start 6500 to 9500.This is not worth to test all parameters on every time, this can be quarterly. Checking only regular parameters are sufficient, like TDS, Hardness, TPC and coliforms. Secondly, only test and checking can ensure drinking water quality. It is only indication. If TDS is higher, you need some treatment. It need purification if Bacteria is there. Just developing testing kit, can not help 100% in Water Purification.
