You may find this article helpful - 'Can Nanotechnology Clean Bellandur Lake?' in which Dr Kiruba Daniel, CTO of J K Nano Solutions, explains how his company has devised a nano solution that acts as a catalyst on the surface of toxic solids.
thank you, Deepti. Sewering in is, of course needed for a longer term solution. But for a short term solution, to restore the biodiversity of the lake and its vibrancy, bioaugmentation will be of much help. breaking down polyphenols and hydrocarbons.
pleasure, and yes bioaugmentation is a beneficial solution for both short and long term. We sincerely hope that the authorities see the benefit sooner than later.
Eros Kaw Bioremediation is the future no doubt.. but yes as Mr Sundaram Seshadri said, we must understand the pollutants and reasons behind the frequent frothing & fires. From what we know, there is a special committee in-charge for cleaning up of Bellandur lake but obviously the in-depth study about the lake condition still seems to be in process as the problem continues to persist. Hopefully the committee will identify need for bioremediation soon.
Before going into the details its good to find out those polluting factors. Especially the reason for frequent frothing and fire in Bellandur lake to be identified. There are small to large scale systems available. But, decision can be made after ascertaining the quality of the water.
During the recent Municipalika 2017 at Navi Mumbai I met some officials from BBMP and have plans to get in touch with the commissioner of BBMP to pitch to him how we can assist in not only cleaning up the lake but maintaining it as well. This we can do by setting up the entire project with our own investment.
I've a qualified, tested Polution Control sytem, completly organic. Its has been proven in several lake sites i.e. South America, Europe etc. Can you inform me what kind of solution problems are involved, blue algae, metyals etc.. You can wright to my e-mail nico@arsani.eu
