Canal-top plants may be more expensive to maintain. Canal water could be contaminated by chemicals used on the plant’s scaffolding while doing its maintenance works. Even though the canal water is flowing through the canal stretches, the adverse impact of possible chemical contamination on quality of water and in the field of its application cannot be fully neglected. This issue is hence to be addressed and monitored prior to opting for more such canal -top plants for renewable energy production through solar energy. It may be appropriate to go in for identification of waste land having solar energy availability for the renewable energy production. Canal premises may be utilized for bringing more greenery and aggro based activities.
